Time

1 min read
I hate how time seems to get away from me. It seems there are so many little rabbit holes the internet can lead you down. It seems I've wasted my time on a couple of other places, and I miss the art connection I once had here.

I'm going to be uploading some new stuff this week. It may come bit by bit for a couple of weeks because all my photos are on "the cloud" somewhere, because I had to send my computer in for servicing and I don't want to overload hubby's old laptop with pics.

I'm looking to reconnect. I know I've said this before but I really need to get back here. I'll go slowly through all the notices, and I apologize for being so absent. Let's see if I can recommit here this time!

I feel that I have neglected this site terribly during the last year. I've been trying to ignite the ArtFire site and the Facebook site, and we all know how Facebook sucks you in!

There have been many changes in the last year. I no longer work for the stained glass studio, and the other studio where I taught classes and I have also parted ways. However, I should soon be teaching classes at one art center (waiting for back ground check to clear) and have a meeting tomorrow with a second art center to see if classes there will be a good fit. This is the major reason for coming to update dA... I need an actual on line portfolio!

I have missed the associations I have made here and vow to do a better job at keeping up with them. If anyone is interested in more day to day things such as current sales listings and classes, I urge you to find CeltCraft Designs on Facebook and "like".

Two more wonderful notes... this past Friday, the Glass Art Guild of Utah show opened at Red Butte Gardens. I have several pieces in this show, and Saturday was notified that I was given an Award of Excellence for a piece of my jewelry. My first ever glass award... I am stoked!

Second note: Good Quill Hunting and I have collaborated on a piece. I send her some glass cabochons and she beaded an AMAZING neck piece with them. I'll update this journal with links for the cabs and the finished piece below.

Sorry for the absence... here's looking to more activity!!

I'm very pleased, lol! Last month I hurriedly grabbed three items to include in a gallery show that was to feature the glass guild member's work. I didn't have time to make anything special, but I wanted to "go through the steps" as it were. I certainly didn't expect to get an award and really didn't expect to sell anything.  Well... the blue drop ring vase sold!

And so did my frit lace sushi plate!

It cost me $25 to enter the three pieces, and so with the cost of the glass and the gallery's percent, I maybe came out even, but at least the thought that I can now say I've sold pieces in a gallery is pretty cool! Tomorrow I'm also taking some items to a shop that wants my work. Hopefully, this will be the start of more selling!

I'm trying to put my Etsy shop into a higher gear.  I would love for my fellow artists (especially those of you who have an Etsy shop or something similar) to take a look at my Etsy shop and offer some constructive criticism.  Does the banner look ok? Are my pictures of my product ok? I'm trying to do more pictures of product from different angles and with a penny for reference... just looking for what else I can do to convert these things to sales.  Thanks, gang!  I love this group!

Whoops, better put the link in! www.celtcraft.etsy.com

If so, I belong to a seed bead pattern sales site that you should maybe know about.  There are over 11,000 patterns there for sale right now.

I'm having a dollar sale on some of my patterns from now until the end of March. All earring patterns, tea light covers and simple Celtic knot patterns are on sale for $1 each!

Here's the link:www.thebeadcoop.com/Members/Pa…

Thanks!
